What you need to do in advance

So we can start the process of preparing volunteers for a placement overseas, we need all applicants to begin medical and criminal background checks. This will mean you have to provide some information in advance as well as bring some items with you on the day.

What you need to do in advance

  1. Complete online medical form
  2. Complete Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (online form)
  3. Read information about why we request certain information about you and how we protect it

1. Complete your medical form online

All ICS volunteers need to complete an online personal health form and submit this before attending their Assessment Day - this is only seen and reviewed by the VSO Medical Team.

If successful on your Assessment Day, you will need to be medically cleared by a VSO medical adviser before you can be matched to a VSO ICS placement.
