The UK government’s Department for International Development (DFID) funds 90% of the ICS programme. The other 10% comes from funds raised by volunteers.

If accepted onto the programme you must fundraise at least £800. We see this as a part of the programme, it demonstrates commitment and helps you develop vital skills.

Below is some information and resources to support your fundraising. You will also have a dedicated Fundraising Support Officer to help you. As well as this ongoing support from ICS staff you will also have access to weekly tips and online networks. You’ll also have fundraising sessions at your assessment day and at pre-placement training.

Please do not let fundraising put you off applying. If you are concerned about cost, contact us at
