Getting ready

An ICS placement is a big undertaking but we’re here to help you get prepared, from providing training and travel arrangements, to making sure you’re fit to travel.

We offer comprehensive support to ensure you are prepared for the experience of volunteering overseas.

We work with you so that you are prepared for your placement. We also ensure everything is done to ensure you stay healthy and safe whilst on placement.

An ICS placement is challenging. Comprehensive training at home and in-country is provided.

Staying healthy overseas

All our volunteers have medical insurance, vaccinations and antimalarials (if required), medication and access to medical care and treatment paid for by ICS.

Safety and security

Our volunteers' health, safety and security is our first priority.

ICS is committed to ensuring the health, safety, welfare and development of all young people with whom it works.
