Helping people to support themselves and their families
Volunteers with Y Care International work with young people at school, through youth associations, the local YMCA and universities to deliver education sessions on employability skills, English and ICT.
Volunteers work with local employers to raise awareness of the value of employing young people and work to raise awareness amongst young people of existing training, internship, and careers opportunities available to them.
Project are located in Kaolack and Ziguinchor.
Living in Senegal
Volunteers live with host families. Senegal is known for its 'teranga' (hospitality) and volunteers are made to feel very welcome.
“The Biagui family welcomed me into their home with open arms, warm hearts, big smiles and a lot of food. I was instantly embraced as one of the family, making settling into life in a new country a lot less daunting”
