Supporting group learning

In addition to the specific training that volunteers receive on the programme, ICS encourages ongoing learning and reflection.

As a Team Leader you should support your team to meet regularly and encourage your volunteers to take an active lead in facilitating this learning. Your group learning sessions could be as simple as talking through the successes and challenges of the previous week, or they may link your community work to discussions on global issues and international development.

Watch this short film to hear from other Team Leaders about their experience of supporting group learning.
